Freelancer's efforts win recognition

Freelance journalists often live life hard - trying to guess the interests of different media outlets and needing to satisfy the whim of demanding editors, usually for slim payments not reflecting the effort involved. But a special award for freelancers helps give some recognition to those efforts.
